Today, the Digital Proof Hackathon kicked off at Automotive Campus in Helmond. At 9:30 am, participants were welcomed by Robert Wit, organiser on behalf of De Digitale Werkplaats Midden & Zuidoost-Nederland. The official opening was provided by Pieter Rahusen of the Automotive Campus, who emphasised how important data and AI are for the future of the automotive industry.
With a focus on education, this hackathon provides space for young IT talents to come up with innovative solutions. A total of 36 students, divided into 10 teams, are participating in this event. The students come from Ter Aa (Helmond), Summa College (Eindhoven) and Yonder (Tilburg).
Choice of three challenging assignments
After the introduction, the teams were given the chance to choose a challenge from three inspiring assignments:
- Challenge A: Reuse decor elements
Client: Bjorn Berkers (Create BV)
The question: ‘How can you use a digital solution to stimulate the reuse of existing decor elements?’
- Challenge B: Smart dashboard for trucks
Client: Jursley Gonzalez and Martijn Ildiz (IMEfficiency)
Challenge: Develop a system to aggregate, analyse and convert the huge amount of data from trucks generating solar energy into actionable insights for a dashboard.
- Challenge C: Modern web environment for the 2CV Kitcarclub
Client: Walter Helder (2CV Kitcarclub)
The task: Create a modern, user-friendly website to replace the current outdated environment.
Final day and award ceremony
After four intensive days of creativity and teamwork, the final day will take place on Friday 6 December. Visitors are welcome from 13:30 onwards on the first floor of Automotive Campus 30 in Helmond. At 16:45 the exciting award ceremony will follow, during which the winning team will be announced.
The Digital Proof Hackathon promises not only inspiring ideas and solutions, but also a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their skills and contribute to technological progress in the automotive industry.
