"It is extraordinary to see how despite the corona crisis, the innovative power of many teams remains undiminished," said jury member and KIVI VT* President Saskia Monsma.
Most teams suffered from the COVID-19 crisis last year, several competitions were cancelled. In the case of the Automotive Innovation Award, the Challenging Concepts category, aimed at innovations by student teams, had even been dropped in the 2021 edition.
KIVI and Ecomobiel have jointly chosen to offer a stage to the teams that managed to achieve success despite these challenging circumstances.
From the entries, the selection committee has nominated 5 student teams, teams that are already clearly adding knowledge and skills to automotive research and industry. Within the nominated teams we find innovations that contribute to long-term trends in the industry, such as sustainable mobility and the development of self-driving transport.
It promises to be an exciting finale on the 13th of October at 15.00 hours in the Ecomobiel theater where the finalists will pitch for the jury. We would like to invite you to be present.
The jury this year consists of:
Tom Selten (Business Development Lightyear), Albie van Buel (Director RAI Automotive Industry NL),
Kees Slingerland (Director ACE Mobility) and Saskia Monsma (President KIVI Vehicle Technology).
