This year, the department of Vehicle Engineering of the Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers (KIVI) organizes for the fourth time the Best Student Team Award.
The award is an incentive prize for student teams and was created by KIVI to give the engineers of tomorrow a boost, to show what students are capable of as a team and to raise awareness for their innovative projects.
Helmond – April 4, 2023
On Sunday April 16, from 14h00 untill 15h00 during the TalentFair of Automotive Week 2023, the ceremony of the award will take place.
Five nominated teams are requested to give a short pitch about their team, the competition, the faced challenges and the added value they created as a team. The nominated teams will be chosen from a selection of automotive student teams from different Applied Sciences institutes (HBO) and Universities (TU).
For the KIVI Engineering Student Team Award, student teams are eligible that distinguish themselves in their project/work in these four competences; team spirit, innovative strength, social impact and expertise.
Winning the award
The price will be handed out to the top five performing automotive student teams and consist of 3000 euros or 1000 euros respectively for the winner and runners up.
The winner also gets a time slot at the RAI conference end 2023, alongside the Automotive Innovation Award winner. Also an invitation for the Automotive Week VIP dinner on Monday, April 17, where the international top of the mobility industry will be present, is included.
Teams
The selection committee has nominated five student teams. At these overall teams you can clearly notice that they are already adding knowledge and expertise to automotive research and industry. Among the nominated teams, KIVI sees innovations that contribute to long-term industry trends, with diverse applications.
Ingenuity is paramount in choosing the winner; the team that has used their resources to get the best out of their product.

The jury of this year consists of Tom Selten (Entrepreneur, former team manager Solar Team Eindhoven and Business Developer at Lightyear Technologies), Albie van Buel (Director RAI Automotive Industry NL), Saskia Lavoo (Director of ACE Mobility) and a delegation from the KIVI Vehicle Technology board.
TalentFair
The TalentFair is created as a meet and match event for future talent and organizations within the mobility industry.
Besides the various interesting possibilities to find your perfect match within the industry of mobility, also Maarten Steinbuch, Professor at the University of Eindhoven and high-tech systems scientist and serial tech entrepreneur, will join this business matchmaking event with his presence and an interesting key note.
